Durga Puja special train from Kolkata to Raxaul
If you are planning to visit Durga Puja temple in Kolkata, you can take this train during the festive season. It will depart from Howrah on Saturdays from 1 October to 29 October, and return on Sundays. The train will stop at places like Jasidih, Jhajha, and Kiul on the way. It will also make halts at Sealdah and Gorakhpur.
The Eastern Railway has announced that it will run 222 special trains for the festival, with emphasis on cleanliness and tight security measures. The train services will include premium, express, and jan sadharan trains. The train will operate between September 26 and November 18 and will pass through 144 stations in the Eastern Railway’s zone.
The special train will run every two hours. It will depart Kolkata at 11:25 AM on October 1 and reach Ajmer at 7:40 PM on October 2. The train will return to Kolkata at 10:30 PM on the third day. The train will stop at several places along the way, including Barddhman, Durgapur, Asansol, Buxar, and Jasida.
Chhath Puja special train from Sealdah to Kamakhya
A special train for the Chhath Puja festival is on its way to Sealdah. The Indian Railways has planned a series of special trains for this festival season. These trains will run over 35 popular routes and will run with additional coaches. The trains will include six unreserved coaches and twelve fully air-conditioned coaches. Four of them will have superfast status.
The train will start its journey from Kolkata CSTM at 1100 on 1 October, and will return to Howrah at 8:30 PM on the following Sunday. On the way, passengers will get off at Jasidih, Jhajha, and Kiul. The train will stop at Chakradharpur on its way. It will be operated by the Eastern Railway and will have 17 coaches. Besides the sleeping coaches, the train will also have one AC-3 tier coach, five AC-2-tier coaches, and two SLRD coaches.
In 2022, the Indian Railways will operate a special train from Kolkata to Ajmer, and will begin ticket booking on September 12 to help ease the rush of passengers during the festive season. Ticket booking for the special train will begin on September 12 and tickets will be available from September 12. The Eastern Railway will also operate the train between Sealdah and Kamakhya.
Kolkata-Ajmer Puja Super-Fast train
Keeping in view the high rush of passengers on trains during festive season, Indian Railways have decided to run special trains. The Kolkata-Ajmer Puja Super-fast train, due to start running on October 4, will make four trips in a week from the eastern city to Ajmer. Apart from Ajmer, the train will also make stops in Patna, New Jalpaiguri, Sealdah and Agra Fort.
This train will also be operated during Navaratri, which is observed from 26 September to 4 October. The five-day festival of Diwali will be celebrated on 5 October. In the meantime, Indian Railways will run several special trains in order to accommodate the rush. For example, two pairs of trains will be operated between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri. On the way, the trains will stop at Bandel, Azimganj, Malda Town and Aluari Road.
